Women's Track and Field | 05.25.2021

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Lewis-Clark State Track and Field team is set to open the 2021 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala. With 16 Warriors entered in events this year, it is the largest group of athletes the Warriors have taken to nationals in program history. The first day of competition at the Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium will be Wednesday and the events will run through Friday.

"We are looking forward to the week as we do every year," Head Coach Mike Collins said. "Gulf Shores obviously offers its challenges when it comes to the climate with highs in the 80s and high humidity every day, and it is harder to replicate that here, but we've always been able to perform quite well. We have an opportunity to earn some more recognition for individuals in our team this year and hopefully we will earn some more All-American awards at this national championship."

Senior Madi Carson is seeded eighth in pole vault with a mark of 3.78m coming off of a win in the event at the Cascade Conference Championships. The pole vault is set to take place on the opening day at 2:30 p.m. PT.
