WALLA WALLA, Wash. – LC State Men's Tennis took advantage of a neutral-site meeting with NCAA Division III Pacific Lutheran on Friday, earning a 7-0 victory for the team's fourth straight win.
The Warriors swept through doubles with little trouble. The top two duos of
Larry Magalasin and
Cade Edwards (No. 1 doubles) and
Itaru Kikuchi and
Daniel Tevez (No. 2 doubles) both cruised to 6-1 victories.
Austin Swing and
Thomas Schaap picked up a 6-4 win in the third slot.
The dominance continued into singles play where LC State swept all six matches. Magalasin had the most convincing win at 6-1, 6-0 in fifth singles, and
Gunnar Harlan cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 won in the sixth spot. Kikuchi (No. 1 singles), Edwards (No. 3 singles) and Tevez (No. 4 singles) all dropped just three games, and Swing won 6-0, 6-4 in the second spot.
The Warriors return home on Sunday to host DIII Puget Sound at 11 a.m. PT.
