LEWISTON, Idaho – The 2022 WIBCA 2B State Player of the Year will be a Warrior in the fall. LC State Men's Basketball signed Colfax's John Lustig, announced by Head Coach Austin Johnson.

Lustig averaged 30 points, 9.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game as a senior and was voted the Northeast 2B League MVP for the third straight year. The 6-3 guard set the Colfax High School record for points in a single game with 51 this season against Liberty. He led the team with a fourth-place finish in the Washington 2B State Tournament and a 20-5 overall record. He was dynamic in the State tournament and averaged 36.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game.

"I chose LC because I built a great relationship with the coaches and team," Lustig said. "I see myself fitting in well with the team and making an impact."

"John is an incredible scorer and even better person," Colfax coach Reece Jenkin said. "He has a great work ethic and drive to constantly push himself to improve. He is extremely competitive and will be a great fit at LC State. I'm excited for him to get the opportunity to play at LC and with the current staff. They have done a great job building a relationship with John and run a successful program."

"We are thrilled to add John to our program next year," Johnson added. "I believe he is one of the best players in the Northwest in the 2022 graduating class and has been really well coached by Reece Jenkin at Colfax, as well as with the Hooptown AAU program. John is an elite scorer with a work ethic that is second to none. We are confident John can have an immediate impact with his length, athleticism and high IQ. Of all John's intangibles, who he is as a teammate stands out to me the most. John was a great leader at Colfax and always put team success and chemistry first. I am excited to see how he impacts our program over the next four years."
