NAIA BASEBALL TOP 25
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With the best record to start a season in program history, the 23-1 LC State Baseball team moved up one spot in the NAIA rankings to No. 3. The Warriors have won 17 straight and hit the road this weekend after the long home stand.
LC State has dropped just one game this season, with a narrow 10-9 loss to now-No. 23 Arizona Christian in the final game of the season-opening road trip. The Warriors have outscored opponents 224-60 this season and have scored double-digits runs 12 times.
The Warriors lead the NAIA in doubles (64) and ERA among teams with more than six games played (2.43). They are third in hits (266) and extra-base hits (100), fourth in runs scored, RBI (202) and total bases (432), fifth in fielding percentage (.977) and eighth in home runs (30).
Sam Linscott is tied for the lead in hits in the NAIA with 42 and tied for fifth in doubles with 10. He is third in the nation in RBI (36) and ninth in stolen bases (17-for-17). On the mound,
Trent Sellers is tied for third in the NAIA in wins with five and is 15
th in ERA (1.07).
LC State travels to Caldwell this weekend for a four-game non-conference set with College of Idaho starting on Friday.
