SPOKANE, Wash. – The LC State women's 4x800m relay shattered the program record on Wednesday in impressive fashion at the Whitworth Last Chance meet. The group hit a national-qualifying time of 9:16.69 to punch its ticket to Gulf Shores, Ala., in a few weeks.
"The girls did great today and took advantage of the opportunity," Head Coach
Mike Collins said.
The team of
Emily Adams,
Geraldin Correa,
Rylee Brown and
Maja Plaznik bested the previous school record by nearly three seconds. Making the feat more impressive, the group ran the race without any other teams running.
Dillon Dawson finished eighth in the 800m with a time of 1:57.55 to close out the regular season for all LC State sports.
