LEWISTON, Idaho – LC State Volleyball added the final piece to the 2022 puzzle in transfer Lisi Langi. The right side will join the Warriors after time at the New Mexico Military Institute and NCAA Division II New Mexico highlands.
"It's rare to bring in a senior for just one season, but we are starting to see it more across all sports," Head Coach
Shaun Pohlman said. "The reality is, we weren't looking for a senior and it doesn't fit the game plan perfectly since we will have five other seniors graduating this next season, but Lisi was just too good to pass up."
In junior college at NMMI, Langi finished third on the team in kills per set. She totaled 597 kills over the two seasons at 2.37 per set. The team went 29-9 (10-0 in conference) her freshman year, then 37-5 (11-1) the next season. Langi helped NMMI to a ninth-place finish at NJCAA Nationals. In her lone season at New Mexico Highlands, Langi led the Cowgirls in kills (292) and kills per set (3.06). She was third on the team in blocks per set (.60) and digs per set (2.31).
"One thing that specifically made me want to come here was the environment and the inspiring academic and volleyball program," Langi said. "Learning about LC and what more it has to offer in the future is exciting. When I look at my future here, I feel refreshed and happy. I want to make a huge difference in both my team and my life."
