RESULTS
MOSCOW, Idaho – Emily Collins and
Sydnie Zywina punched their tickets to indoor nationals with big-time performances to close out the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open on Saturday. The local products excelled with national-qualifying marks in just the second meet of the season.
Zywina cleared the A standard in the triple jump with her mark of 12.02m. She won the event as the only non-NCAA Division I athlete in the final. The distance ranks third in the NAIA this season.
Lewiston native Collins broke her own school record and hit a provisional mark in the 600m. She won the event with a time of 1:35.35 and ranks seventh in the NAIA this season.
Three throwers represented LC State in the shot put. Sophomore
Haylee Appleford led the way in 16
th place (11.17m),
Grace Osborne was 25
th (10.08m) and
Hope Zollman was 27
th (9.91m).
Karissa Lindner advanced to the prelim round of the 60m dash with a time of 8.12 in qualifying. She placed 18
th in the prelim with a time of 8.15.
Four Warrior women raced in the mile and were led by
Camille Ussher in 16
th place with a personal best time of 5:16.56.
Damaris Kibiwot was 19
th (5:17.90),
Grace Tiegs placed 34
th (5:27.06) and
Grace McCormick was 45
th (5:45.72). McCormick went on to finish 24
th in the 800m with a personal best time of 2:37.37.
