Mendoza Joins LC State Record Book in Shot Put

SPOKANE, Wash. – LC State Men's Track and Field had multiple personal bests on the day despite rain at both the Oregon Preview in Eugene and the Bucs Scoring and Multi in Spokane. A pair of Warriors made edits to the record book in Spokane while a small group opened action at one of the nation's top venues in Eugene.
 
OREGON PREVIEW - Results
Griffen Parsells just missed the national standard in the 1,500m and was eighth overall in the competitive field. He clocked a time of 3:54.04 and Kobe Wessels was 32nd (4:01.67).
 
Trenton Johnson fought through a rainy triple jump and placed seventh in the event. He cleared a distance of 13.70m.
 
BUCS SCORING & MULTI - Results
Cameron Carrara completed his first collegiate decathlon with a seventh-place finish. The freshman scored 4,791 points that included a personal-best throw of 39.32m to place fourth in the javelin. He was fifth in the 110m hurdles (17.41), seventh in the 1,500m (5:23.97), 10th in the discus (24.90m) and 11th in the pole vault (2.14m).
 
Freshman Jr Mendoza threw the fifth-best shot put in school history with a massive PR of 13.45m. He placed sixth overall in the event.
 
A pair of Warriors both ran personal-best times in the 3,000m steeplechase, led by Keith Uitdewilligen in third place. The sophomore bettered his fifth-best time in school history when he crossed the line in 9:51.20. Manuel Valdez was seventh with his PR of 10:49.82.
 
Perry Severijnse led LC State in the 100m dash with a 10th-place finish (11.67). Tanner Sibert was 15th with a personal-best time of 11.90 and Max Funk was 21st (12.73). James Bogdanowicz led the Warriors in the 200m with his PR of 23.38 to place eighth. Sibert also ran a personal-best time of 24.41 to finish 14th, and Brandon Decker was 18th (25.58).
 
Funk went on to place fourth in the long jump at 5.26m.
 
Jacob Adams was the lone Warrior in action in the 3,000m where he finished 22nd (9:35.64). Jace Joslyn was 16th in his first collegiate outdoor meet in the 1,500m (4:59.05).
