FORT WAYNE, Ind. – LC State Warrior Women's Tennis opened its stay at the Doc Richards Tournament with a 4-0 victory over the Indiana Tech Warriors on Thursday.
Indiana Tech was not able to field a full team which led to forfeits at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
LC State won both doubles matches that were played.
April Buckingham and
Beatriz Lambru teamed up in the top spot for a 7-5 victory while
Heidi Moyo and
Paige Noble-Lucas won 6-0 in the second spot.
No singles matches were played out fully due to injuries. Lambru (No. 2 singles) and Noble-Lucas (No. 4 singles) earned victories with their opponents retiring due to injury, and Buckingham was awarded a win in the sixth spot without an opponent.

The Doc Richards Tournament continues Friday when LC State takes on No. 24 Indiana Wesleyan at 6 a.m. PT and No. 18 Northwestern Ohio at noon PT.
