No. 20 LC State Women’s Tennis Advances to GSAC Title Match with Victory Over OUAZ

GLENDALE, Ariz. – No. 20 LC State Women's Tennis is headed to the GSAC title match after a 4-0 victory over fifth-seeded Ottawa (Ariz.) on Friday. The Warriors made quick work of the Spirit to advance to the championship match for the second straight season.
 
LC State took a 1-0 lead after doubles play. Lulu Monnayoo and Rylie Gettmann earned a 6-3 win in the top doubles match, and Carisa Liebenberg and Gwyn Heim clinched the point with a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
 
Liebenberg earned the first singles win for the Warriors to keep the momentum with LC State. The junior blanked her opponent for a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.
 
Gettmann was not far off Liebenberg's pace with a dominant win in fifth singles. The freshman defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-1.
 
Senior Naiara Montero clinched the match for LC State with a win in third singles. She finished her contest with a score of 6-3, 6-3 to end the match.
 
UP NEXT
The top-seeded Warriors face second-seeded (RV) Stanton (Calif.) in the GSAC title match on Saturday at 10 a.m.
