LC State Women Wrap Up Perfect Weekend With Win Over Dickinson State

NEW TOWN, N.D. – LC State Women's Basketball, receiving votes in the national poll, wrapped up a 2-0 weekend in North Dakota at the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge Classic on Saturday morning. The Warriors rolled past Dickinson State (N.D.) by a final of 76-54.

Darian Herring packed the box score with a game-high 18 points, seven assists and three blocks, and Kaylee Cordle and Kendall Wallace joined Herring in double-digit scoring.

"Great weekend for our team," coach Caelyn Orlandi said. "I thought we found offensive rhythm this weekend and shared the ball exceptionally well. I'm always extremely happy with a 21-assist game. Some great individual performances this weekend and two great team wins."

The victory improves the LC State record to 3-3 on the season ahead of four straight home games.

Beardin and Herring combined for a quick six-point run to make it 33-18 at 2:56, and a 3-pointer by Wallace closed out the half for LC State and sent the Warriors to the break with a 38-23 lead.

Wallace and Skogstad knocked down back-to-back 3s in the fourth quarter before Madalyn Green, Lucy Teegarden and Ellee Brockman joined the scoring efforts. A three-point play by Brockman gave the Warriors their largest lead of the contest, 74-45, in the final two minutes and Skogstad closed out the scoring with a layup for the 76-54 final.
