LEWISTON, Idaho – Freshman
Rylie Gettmann continued her strong debut season with a singles victory against NCAA Division I Seattle U on Friday. LC State Women's Tennis, receiving votes in the national poll, dropped the match 5-2.
Despite only five players in its lineup, Seattle U took the top two doubles matches to earn the first point of the match.
Gettmann competed in the No. 5 singles match and defeated her opponent in straight sets. The first-year player earned her fourth singles victory of the year by scores of 6-3, 6-3. She is now 4-0 on the season individually.
Rayana Shah put up a fight in the second singles contest. She took an early lead in the first frame before her opponent took the match by a close 7-5, 7-5 margin.
Carisa Liebenberg was awarded a win in No. 6 singles due to a forfeit by Seattle U.
