LA GRANDE, Ore. – Lewiston natives had a strong day to close out the regular season at the EOU Last Chance meet on Saturday.
Emily Collins and
Madigan Kelly each hit national standards to better their NAIA ranks.
"A pretty good ending to our indoor season," coach
Mike Collins said. "A lot of season bests and PRs, along with a couple of new national qualifiers. A few athletes are probably sitting on the edge at this point and we're watching and see what happens when it comes to declarations and things like that.
"It appears that we're starting to peak at the right time which is perfect," Collins added. "Hopefully we can hold on and maintain those peaks, if not fine tune even more, as we progress our way to Florida. Lewiston had a great showing this weekend with Emily, Madigan and Kobe (Wessels) having outstanding weekends. Our local fans and family should be very proud."
