RESULTS
PORTLAND, Ore. – LC State Women's Track and Field put up solid marks at Lewis & Clark College's Larry Byerly Invitational on Saturday to cap a busy weekend across the region.
"Pretty long weekend, but a very good one," coach
Mike Collins said. "Finally had some decent weather, and even though we were a little bit short on some performances, overall, we had a pretty outstanding set of days. Some new conference qualifiers, more names are in the record book and a huge positive outlook towards the last couple of meets of the season as we head into conference and hopefully nationals for a lot of these athletes."
Damaris Kibiwot ran the third-fastest 10,000m in program history and third best in the Cascade Conference this season to start the meet. She clocked a time of 37:37.25 to place second.
Lily Bennett was fifth (39:33.21) and
Lilly Gilbert finished seventh (41:11.24).
Also in distance events,
Camille Ussher ran the fifth-best 800m in LC State history with a time of 2:14.97. She placed fourth at the meet with
Grace Tiegs in ninth (2:17.95) and
Leila Flannery was 26
th (2:25.95).
Nuala Rollins ran a personal-best time in the 3,000m steeplechase (12:22.60) to finish 11
th overall at the meet.
Madigan Kelly won the 100m hurdles in Portland with a time of 14.36 and
Olivia Yetter finished 15
th (17.41). Kelly was also the top finisher in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.68.
Claire Dooley finished 18
th in the 100m dash (12.98) and Yetter was 43
rd (14.05).
Emily Collins was second overall in the 400m (57.90). She also led LC State with a ninth-place finish in the 200m (26.49) and Dooley was 15
th (26.75).
