SPOKANE, Wash. – LC State Women's Track and Field continued its outdoor season on Friday at the Whitworth Peace meet in Spokane.
Madigan Kelly earned a provisional time in the 100m hurdles to highlight the day for the Warriors.
Kelly ran her fastest 100m hurdles of the season to better her provisional standard time for nationals. Her time of 14.09 earned her a third-place finish and is tied for fifth-fastest in the NAIA this season.
Olivia Yetter finished 21
st with a personal-best time of 17.34.
Emily Collins ran a conference qualifying time and placed seventh overall in the 400m with a time of 57.10. She went on to place 22
nd in the 200m (25.86) and
Claire Dooley was 33
rd (26.78). Dooley was also in action in the 100m where she placed 21
st (12.76) and Yetter was 38
th with a PR of 14.03.
Haylee Appleford led the throwers in the discus and shot put. The junior placed 14
th in the discus (36.52m) with
Hope Zollman in 18
th (35.32m),
Grace Osborne in 24
th (34.46m) and
Shayvon Williams in 29
th (31.03m). Appleford was 13
th in the shot put (11.64m) with Zollman in 22
nd (10.57m).
Osborne led the Warriors in the hammer throw with a 12
th-place finish. She threw a distance of 44.16m and
Faith Wersland was 15
th at 42.07m. Appleford was 27
th (38.69m), Williams placed 35
th (35.98m) and Zollman was 36
th (35.70m).
Freshman
Kailee Lerew led LC State in the 800m with a 12
th-place finish (2:19.04).
Grace Tiegs was 20
th (2:22.87) and
Leila Flannery was 33
rd (2:28.82). Tiegs also placed 26
th in the 1500m (4:55.51).
Lily Bennett was the top Warrior finisher in the 5000m in 21
st (18:39.16).
Damaris Kibiwot was 28
th (19:30.44).
