Box Score HELENA, Mont. - The Lewis-Clark State Warriors faced a tough Carroll College team on Friday night, and fell to the powerful offense 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 19-25, 14-25).  With the loss, the Warriors sit at 12-4 on the season and 2-2 in Frontier play.
 
Olivia Jarvis got the ball rolling for the Warriors in the opening set with a kill.  The two teams battled back-and-forth until a kill from 
Lauren West put LC up 8-5. The Saints came out of a timeout with two-straight points, but the rhythm was stopped by a kill by 
Alexa Van Vleet.  A well-placed tip by 
Rachel Gregg found its way to the floor and Jarvis followed with one of her own as LCSC grew the lead to 12-9. The Saints battled their way back to even the set 16-16 before Jarvis slammed a ball down to put the Warriors back on top 17-16. Carroll took their first lead of the set at 21-20 with on a Warrior error but returned the favor with an error of their own to even things at 22-22.  Van Vleet found a hole in the Carroll block with an assist from West, then the two put up a block of their own to push the score to set point at 24-22. 
Brooke Kaawa stepped up big with a kill to give the Warriors the first set victory, 25-22.
 
Trailing 2-3 in the second set, 
Aubrey King evened the set a three apiece before Kaawa went back-to-back to give LC a 5-3 advantage.  Points were traded throughout the set as the two Frontier Conference opponents battled to a 19-19 tie. Carroll took a 20-19 to force an LCSC timeout.  An error by the Saints put the Warriors in front 23-22, but the Saints regained momentum to win the set 25-23.
 
The Saints took control in the third, jumping out to an early 7-4 lead. A four-point run featuring kills from Gregg and Van Vleet brought the Warriors within three at 9-12, but Carroll powered their way to a 17-10 lead.  The Warriors fought off set-point with a kill from Jarvis and a Carroll attack error, but ultimately dropped the set to trail two sets to one.
 
Carroll continued to dominate in fourth set, taking a commanding 14-9 lead.  Jarvis brought a kill down from 
Gionni Brown to cut the deficit to four at 11-15.  The Saints went on a massive 10-3 scoring run to roll through the fourth and final set with a 25-14 win and 3-1 match victory.
 
King led the Warriors with 15 kills and Jarvis had 10. As a team, though, the Warriors hit just .133 and had 28 attack errors.
 
Brown wound up with 25 digs and setter 
Lauren West finished with 39 assists.
 
The Warriors continue the road trip tomorrow when they travel to No. 20 Montana Tech to face the Orediggers at 1 p.m.
