LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the sixth consecutive season and seventh time overall, Lewis-Clark State Volleyball was honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with a Team Academic Award.
"This recognition reflects the partnership we have across our campus. Our student-athletes are pursuing some of the most demanding majors at LC State, with many balancing nursing and pre-med coursework while competing at a championship level," coach Katie Palmer said. "Our faculty, staff and administration make daily investments to develop the whole person and everyone involved should be very proud of the impact they are having on our student-athletes."
To earn the team accolade, a volleyball program must maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Warrior Volleyball held a mark of 3.66 in the fall and 3.67 after the spring semester.
The team had six student-athletes earn a 4.0 GPA in the spring:
Abby Beaton,
Taylor Boyce,
Hannah Dotson,
Kate Schneider,
Makenzie Stout and
Ashlyn Watt. Fifteen Warriors had a grade point average of at least 3.5 in the spring.
