LEWISTON, Idaho – Head coach Brian Orr has announced the first addition to the 2020-21 Lewis-Clark State Women's Basketball team in Bellarmine Prep's Callie Stevens. Stevens will join the Warriors after four varsity seasons under coach Kim West.
"We are extremely excited to be adding Callie to our basketball program," Orr said. "She is one of those special players that has the ability to make everyone around her better."
Stevens averaged 15.3 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game and 4.1 assists per game through her first three seasons with the Lions. She has shot 43 percent from the field and 73 percent from the free throw line. She is on her way to scoring her 1,000th point at Bellarmine this season. Last season, she set the WIAA record for most 3-pointers in a state tournament with 12.
She has been voted first-team all-league twice, second-team all-area, and was First-Team All-State Tournament last season. Stevens was also named the Bellarmine Prep 2018-19 Offensive MVP.
"Callie is a scoring point guard who can get to the rim and shoot the 3. She has a high basketball IQ, makes great decisions and plays with a winner's mentality," Orr explained. "A natural leader on the court, Callie is a do-it-all player who has the ability to make the big play on both ends of the floor. She has a passion for the game and is all about becoming a great basketball player and playing for a winning program. She is a perfect fit for our team."
Along with her athletic accolades, Stevens has built up an impressive academic resume as a member of the National Honors Society and the school's Honor Roll.
