RESULTS
PULLMAN, Wash. – Despite battling rough winds at the Cougar Invitational, the Warriors turned in solid performances.
Jazzmin Bryan continued to excel in the 400m with a win in the event and a national B qualifying time of 56.98, a new LC record.
Dillon Dawson also picked up a win for LC track and field with a first-place finish in the 1500m.

"Today was a rough day. The weather really didn't do us any favors," coach
Cyrus Hall said. "From a technique and execution standpoint, to the naked eye we looked really good, so that's encouraging."

The Women
Bryan highlighted the day for the Warriors with her big win in the 400m. Her time of 56.98 set a new school record and hit the B national standard. She also picked up a third-place finish in the 200m with a time of 26.43.

"Jazzmin was the highlight of the day," Hall said. "I have no idea how she ran as fast as she did in this wind."

Jenny Sapp had a strong day on the track and in the field. The senior hit a personal-best in the 100m hurdles (15.11) and in the long jump (5.11m/16'9.25") to place in the top five in both events. She took second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.17.

Mollie Stephenson ran to a second-place finish in the 300m steeplechase (13:25.69), and
Abby Snyder was third in the 400m hurdles (1:08.54).

In the field,
Delaney Warren and
Natalie Robinson both had strong days in throwing events. Warren's best finish on the day came in the discus where she placed third (39.89m/130'10"). She also finished in the top-five of the hammer throw (42.02m/137'10"). Robinson came in third in the javelin (32.76m/107'6").

The Men
Dawson led the Warrior men with a first-place finish in the 1500m run (4:08.96).
Cooper Haney was not far behind, crossing the line second at 4:10.44).

Sam Weeks ran a strong 100m and 200m. He placed third in the 100m (11.20) and fourth in the 200m (22.96).

In the 400m event,
Cameron Preston placed third (52.12) and
Gerald Chase Ellison was fourth (52.23).

In his first ever attempt at the 3000m steeplechase, freshman
Sakti Woodbury finished strong in seventh (10:02.45).

"I thought Sakti was very impressive today," Hall said. "That's pretty good for a first time."

The Warriors head to Oregon May 3 and 4. They will compete at the Portland Twilight and the Linfield Open.
