GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Lewis-Clark State track and field team saw success in all four events on the final day of the 2019 NAIA Track and Field National Championships. Six Warriors earned a total of seven All-American honors including Jonny Handel in the marathon, Delaney Warren in the discus throw and Jenny Sapp in the 400m hurdles. She, along with the 4x400m relay team of Maisie McManus, McKinley Litton and Jazzmin Bryan, also earned All-American accolades.

"It was a great end one of the best track and cross country seasons in our program's history," coach Mike Collins said. "Two All-Americans in cross country, six in indoor and seven in outdoor; the bar keeps getting raised."

Handel completed his collegiate career as an All-American in one of the most grueling events a student-athlete can compete in. His time of 2:41:57.57 in the marathon earned him third-place in the field of 44.

Delaney Warren earned her first All-American honor after finishing eighth in the discus throw with a mark of 43.22m/141'9". She was the lone sophomore to make the top-eight.

Sapp set a program record in the final solo race of her career. The senior placed sixth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.26 for her first All-American honor in the event.

The women's 4x400m relay wrapped up the 2019 season for the Warriors with a fourth-place finish to bring the day's All-American total to seven. The team of McManus, Sapp, Litton and Bryan combined for a time of 3:49.21.

"Jenny hit a personal-record and school-record in the 400m hurdles, Delaney hit a personal-record in the discus and we had Jonny as the first male All-American in the marathon," Collins said. "It was a great week to be a Warrior."
