LA GRANDE, Ore. – The men's 4x100m relay highlighted a solid first day for LC State Men's Track and Field at the 2026 Cascade Conference Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank. The Warriors had all-conference finishes in three events as
Reid Thomas and
Kobe Wessels joined the relay team on the podium. The Warriors also had the first student-athlete in program history compete in the 5,000m racewalk.
Â
"We had a pretty good day considering conditions were extremely challenging due to the winds," coach
Mike Collins said. "Our throwers had a pretty good day across the board for both genders, especially Reid who came away with points that weren't on paper to begin with. We also saw our men's 4x100m team break the school record and a first in school history with our first racewalker. Track is definitely a numbers game and going into tomorrow we'll be working hard to try to both earn individual recognitions, but also to have a shot at finishing in a top half of the conference in both genders on the team side."
