LEWISTON, Idaho –
Shaun Pohlman has completed his roster for the 2019 campaign with the addition of
Channa Hart. The Menifee, Calif. native will be a middle blocker for the Warriors this coming season.
Hart comes to LC by way of Paloma Valley HS where she played four years of varsity volleyball. She was voted First-Team All-League, First-Team All-CIF and MVP. On the academic side, Hart received the Scholar Award, was a CSF Sealbearer, a member of the National Honors Society, received the Golden State Seal Merit and graduated in the top-10 of her class. Hart was also an assistant section leader in the school's marching band.
"We love athletes that have so much upside potential because we believe in training and development," Pohlman said. "Channa is very dynamic in her movements and is already a strong player - she is going to only improve in her time here at LC. These are exciting times ahead!"
"I was extremely happy with Channa's choice to attend LC State," club coach Dennis Palpalltoc said. "I think it is the perfect fit for both her academically and for volleyball. LC State has everything that she was looking for from a school and volleyball program. I think she will thrive at LC State and become a huge contributor to the program. She is a great teammate and her work ethic and will to win will be a great asset for the Warriors!"
"I chose LC because it resonated with me as a person and had everything I could possibly wish for in a college," Hart said. "Even the smallest details made the biggest impacts. I didn't feel looked down upon or distanced from the team, instead they proved to be an astounding family with open arms. I absolutely love the team and the work ethic Coach Pohlman strives towards.
"During other college visits, I struggled to find a place that felt cooperative, competitive, refreshing, and academically challenging at the same time. But at LC, it was a great fit and I'm proud to be a warrior. I'm so excited about what's yet to come!"
Hart signifies the 17th recruit Pohlman has brought to LC in his two recruiting seasons, bringing in eight his first year and nine for the 2019 season.
"It took some hard work, but our recruiting classes are now balanced," Pohlman explained. "In the long term, this will add to the leadership and continuity of the program in addition to recruiting less people each year. Can't wait to get the 2019 campaign rolling!"
