FULL RESULTS

ASHLAND, Ore. – Three Warrior Track and Field multi athletes, Madison Carson, Christian Bothwell and Caleb Moore, closed out the 2021 Cascade Conference Combined Events Championships on Friday. Carson finished ninth in the heptathlon with a personal-best of 3,988 points. Bothwell finished eighth with 5,830 points and Moore finished 12th in the event, ending with 4,985.

"It was a wild couple of days, lots of ups and downs," coach Cyrus Hall said. "They performed well. It was kind of a bummer that Caleb took a no-height in the vault today because he was on pace to hit the qualifying standard and I know he is kind of bummer about that, but he had a good meet. I think he had PRs in five events, so that is pretty cool."

Moore finished third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.83. He placed fourth in the discus throw with a mark of 33.57m and landed at 10th in javelin with a personal-best throw of 39.43m. Moore ran a personal-best time of 5:27.01 in the 1500m to finish in 11th. The sophomore finished 12th overall in the meet.

In the 110m hurdles, Bothwell finished 11th with a time of 17.02. He was ninth with a throw of 29.74m in discus and earned sixth in pole vault with the height of 3.70m. He threw personal-best mark of 45.92m to finish fifth in javelin and ran a career-best time of 4:51.45 in the 1500m to place sixth in the event. He placed eighth overall.

"Christian PRed in four or five events as well," Hall explained. "He had a great multi. He left some points out there with some mishaps, but he is on the bubble to get to nationals. He is basically a freshman, so for him to put up that score in one of the first two multis he has ever done is impressive."

In the second day of competition, Carson finished ninth in long jump with the mark of 4.95m. She placed eighth in javelin with a throw of 30.47m and ran 2:37.10 in the 800m to earn her a spot at 11th. She finished ninth overall.

"Madi balled out," Hall said. "I am very proud of her. She gave is everything she had to get the girls some points and just came up a little short. She PRed as well in a few events. I'm very proud of her. Most people only think of her as an All-American pole vaulter, but she is tough as nails and does a lot for our team participating in multi events."

Warrior Track and Field will compete at the Bucs Scoring Invitational hosted by Whitworth on Friday, April 30.
