Men's Track and Field | 05.13.2021
LA GRANDE, Ore. – LC State Track and Field will start competition on Friday at the two-day Cascade Conference Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, hosted by Eastern Oregon. Several Warriors will be traveling to Oregon to represent Lewis-Clark amongst its conference rivals. A number of athletes have already hit national-qualifying standards and are preparing to compete later this month in Alabama. For some, this is the final opportunity to hit a standard to advance them to nationals and compete in a Warrior uniform one more time. The Warriors will be competing for all-conference honors as well, which is top three in each event.
"Looking forward to the weekend," Head Coach
Mike Collins said. "First-ever conference championship for us, so that is exciting too. Wish I could say we would be vying for a title, but we just are just not deep enough to score points in a lot of the field events. Hopefully in a few years we will be in a position to grow that part of our program and we will see what happens. A lot of our athletes will have a shot at all-conference, which is top three, so excited to see that and we also have a few that still have a shot at qualifying for nationals."
