CORVALLIS, Ore. – For the second week in a row an LC State Warrior was named the Cascade Conference Rize Laboratory Defender of the Week.
Jada Wyms had a powerful weekend on both sides of the court en route to the second weekly honor of the season for LC State Volleyball.
Wyms helped the Warriors through a strong weekend with an upset over RV Bushnell and a near-upset of No. 5 Corban. The senior led each match in blocks with five on Friday and six on Saturday for a total of 11, 1.22 per set. She was dynamic offensively and defensively in the five-setter against Corban with 12 kills on a .529 attack percentage. She averaged 2.8 points per set.
This is the second weekly honors for Wyms in her career and first this season. She is the second Warrior to earn Defender of the Week honors this year, with
Kenzie Dean doing so last week.
LC State hosts Homecoming Weekend Oct. 7 and 8 in the P1FCU Activity Center. The Warriors will take on No. 23 Southern Oregon on Friday before facing Oregon Tech on Saturday.
