LEWISTON, Idaho – LC State Women's Track and Field added a versatile athlete to its 2022-23 roster. Dalli Elison will join the Warriors from Hagerman, Idaho, and Hagerman High School.
Elison found a unique connection to LC State in Hagerman. "Her high school coach is Dana Strong, the father of former LC State distance standout Katie (Strong) McHan," assistant coach
Cyrus Hall said. "So that familiarity with LC helped Dalli, as well as us, figure out that this would be a great place for her."
She boasts career-bests of 13.44 in the 100m, 17.03 in the 100m hurdles, 47.58 in the 300m hurdles, and 15-feet in the long jump.
"Athletically, we are excited about her versatility and her young training age," Hall said. "She just started running 300m hurdles last spring and qualified for State where she placed fifth. She started long jumping last spring as well, so she will have a lot of room for growth getting in those events as she starts to train in them more consistently on a full-time basis.
"She is from a hard-working family and she is a very dedicated young lady on and off the track," Hall said. "Really what I'd call a blue-collar type of kid. She has outstanding grades and will be getting into nursing here at LC State."
Elison's versatility will have her competing in a multitude of events.
"She will bolster our depth in the hurdle and jumps events, but could also make an impact as a combined events athlete in the pentathlon and heptathlon," said Hall. "We are looking forward to getting Dalli on campus next fall."
