LEWISTON, Idaho – Warrior Volleyball bolstered is staff of setter with the addition of Esther Kailiponi, announced by Head Coach Shaun Pohlman. Kailiponi, a native of Anaheim, Calif., will join LC State in the fall.
 
A senior at Mayfair High School, Kailiponi helped the Monsoons to a Suburban League title and was named all-conference and Suburban League MVP. Academically, she received Highest Honors.
 
"Esther is a strong setter, a quick learner and is gritty in persevering through a challenge which is a pretty potent combination that works in our favor," Pohlman said. "She adds a deeper layer of dexterity and, by definition, keeps us from being so rigid – specifically in our rotations, as well as both the offensive and defensive side of the game."
 
"One thing that really stood out to me when it came to choosing LCSC was how nice everyone was," Kailiponi said. "They are always saying hi to each other and quite genuine with their actions and words. The kindness they showed me inspires me to do the same. When I think about my future here, I see myself not only growing as a volleyball player but maturing as a person. I'm excited to learn and expand my horizons, and knowing that I will be attending LCSC reassures me that I will be doing just that."
