LEWISTON, Idaho – Madison Kammuller, an NCAA Division II transfer from Fresno Pacific University, a former NAIA powerhouse that won four consecutive national titles in volleyball from 2007 – 2010 prior to their transition into the NCAA in 2011, signed with Warrior Volleyball for the coming season.
Kammuller comes to Lewiston by way of Burlingame, Calif., and will join two other California products on the 2022 squad – senior
Channa Hart and incoming freshman Esther Kailiponi. Kammuller played for Burlingame High School where her 2019 squad won the California Interscholastic Federation's (CIF) Central Coast Section Division 3 Championship.
"With NAIA Volleyball, we don't have substitution rules like all the other levels which means strong defensive specialists are highly valued," Head Coach
Shaun Pohlman said. "When we were looking for a libero in this class, Maddie is exactly what and who we were looking for. She is able to execute at a high level, has a strong presence on the court, holds a high-competitive mindset, and is driven toward connection."
Kammuller paralleled Pohlman's statement with one of her own.
"I had other offers that were similar and some that were different," Kammuller said. "Ultimately, it came down to the competitiveness and the family aspect in making my final decision. I knew LC had that because once I stepped foot on campus, the girls were so quick to make me feel welcomed like family, and when I practiced with the team I could see the competitiveness on the court. I also had a great connection with the program director for my major."
