CLAYTON VANDYKE– MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
VanDyke was voted the Male Track Athlete of the Meet at the Cascade Conference Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, after repeating as the champion in the 1,500m and 800m. The senior surpassed Olympian Sam Atkin for the LC record in the 1,500m with a time of 3:45.71, currently the second-best time in the NAIA. In the 800m, the Vernal, Utah, native ran a time of 1:51.36 to capture the crown. He also ran a leg of the school-record setting 4x400m relay that finished second to give him three all-conference honors over the weekend.
This is the 11th conference weekly honor for VanDyke in his career, and fifth this season.
The Warriors head to Gulf Shores, Ala., for nationals May 25-27.
