Both LC State Golf Teams Lead Heading into Final Round at Salishan

DAY 2 RESULTS | DAY 1 RECAP

GLENEDEN BEACH, Ore. –
Shooting the best team score of the day, the Lewis-Clark State College Men's Golf team joined the Warrior women's team as the leaders heading into the third and final round of the Coastal Collegiate Classic, being played at Salishan Golf Links.

The Warrior men shot a 307 on Monday, which matched their round from Sunday on the same course. That gave LC State a 614 team score and a 12-shot lead entering Tuesday's final 18 holes.

Bushnell, which entered the second round with a three-shot lead over the Warriors, faltered with a 322, while Multnomah, which was three behind LC State after Sunday, carded a 327. Bushnell now stands at 626, while Multnomah is at 637.

On the women's side, the Warriors had a rougher outing on Monday and saw their lead reduced to six shots over No. 23 Oregon Tech. LC State is at 662 and OIT is at 628.

Jorgen Lie Viken and Devon Caruso continued their solid play for the Warrior men as both shot 2-over-par 74s on Monday. Viken is at 147, just one shot behind leader Cade Stubbs of Bushnell, while Caruso is in third at 151. Sondre Andresen (157) and Carlos Davila (159) also are in the top 10.

The Warrior women shot a 338 on Monday after a 324 in the first round. Freshman Kylee Hughes had the best round of the day for LC State at 79 and stands fourth overall at 163. Alexandra Schmidt, who had an 82 Monday, remains in second place at 159, five shots off the lead.

The final 18 holes of the Warriors' season-opening tournament will be played on Tuesday.
