LC State Men’s Track and Field Sweeps CCC Honors for Second Straight Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. – A successful week for LC State Track and Field at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open translated to a pair of Cascade Conference Rize Laboratory Athlete of the Week honors for the Warriors. London Kirk repeated as the CCC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, and Christian Bothwell was voted the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.

This is the second week in a row LC State has swept the conference’s men’s track and field awards.

LONDON KIRK – MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Kirk shattered his school record in the 400m with an A standard time of 48.10. The time ranks fourth in the NAIA currently and earned Kirk a second-place finish at the meet. He tied his LC State record in the 200m with a time of 21.99 to finish fifth at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open.

This is the second conference weekly honor in a row for Kirk.

CHRISTIAN BOTHWELL – MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Bothwell finished fifth in the heptathlon with a career-best mark of 4589, the second-highest in school history. The total ranks ninth in the NAIA currently. Bothwell had personal-best marks in the long jump (6.52m) and 60m hurdles (9.07).

This is the first weekly honor of Bothwell’s career.

LC State continues the indoor season on Saturday at the Whitworth Open.
