NEW ORLEANS, La. – LC State Women's Tennis opened the Xavier/Dillard Invitational with a tough matchup against No. 8 Loyola on Thursday that ended in a 6-1 loss.
Naiara Montero earned a singles win in the contest to highlight the day for the Warrior women.
The Wolf Pack swept doubles play quickly with the Warriors winning six games across the three matches.
Montero won her No. 4 singles match after a three-set battle. After dropping the first 6-4, she battled back to win the next two by the same score for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory.
Beatriz Lambru forced a tiebreaker in the second set of her No. 1 singles match before falling 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).

Paige Noble-Lucas each won seven games in their singles matches. Shah dropped the No. 2 match 6-3, 6-4 while Noble-Lucas fell 6-4, 6-3 in No. 3 singles.
