LC State Women’s Tennis Battles Past ACU to Advance to GSAC Championship

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Warrior Women's Tennis team is title match bound at the 2025 GSAC Women's Tennis Tournament after a 4-1 victory over third-seeded Arizona Christian. The No. 2-seeded LC State team will face top-seeded Ottawa (Ariz.) on Thursday in the conference championship.
 
The Warriors trailed 1-0 after doubles play. Beatriz Lambru and Paige Noble-Lucas earned a 6-2 win in the No. 2 spot, but ACU took first and third doubles to earn the point.
 
Gwyn Heim evened the score with a quick sweep at No. 5 singles. The sophomore defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-1 to tie things up 1-1.
 
Rayana Shah earned a win in No. 3 singles to give LC State the lead when her 6-4, 6-0 victory put the Warriors up 2-1. Beatriz Lambru was not far behind in her No. 2 singles match where she won 6-1, 6-3.
 
Naiara Montero battled back after dropping her first set to clinch the match. After a 6-1 loss in the first frame, she fired back with scores of 6-3, 6-0 to take No. 6 singles and end the contest.
 
UP NEXT
The Warrior women face OUAZ on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Surprise, Ariz., for the GSAC title.
