Parsells and Castillo Among Warriors to Edit Record Book at Cougar Classic

RESULTS
PULLMAN, Wash. – Griffen Parsells highlighted that day for LC State Track and Field at the Cougar Classic in Pullman on Saturday with one of the fastest 800m runs in school history. He became the second Warrior this season to clinch an automatic standard for outdoor nationals.
 
Parsells became the second Warrior to ever run a sub-1:50 in the 800m with a dominant race on Saturday. The senior moved up to second in the LC State record book with a time of 1:49.69 to win the race with the third fastest time in the NAIA and best in the Cascade Conference this season. Tristin O'Brien ran a PR of 2:00.27 to place 19th and Clay Shumaker was 22nd (2:06.39).
 
Jordan Castillo, Preston Cooper, London Kirk and Johnson teamed up to place third in the 4x100m relay with a time of 41.93. The time ranks third in program history. Kirk and Castillo each ran in the 400m where Kirk finished fifth (48.18). Castillo was seventh with the second fastest time in school history (49.82).
 
Caleb Sprenger bettered his mark in the javelin with a PR of 55.19m. The distance ranks third in LC State history.
 
Tanner Sibert ran a PR in the 100m to place ninth (11.62). Cameron Carrara cleared a personal best mark in the high jump at 1.80m to finish ninth and Max Funk was 10th (1.70m). Funk was eighth in the long jump (5.56m).
 
Kobe Wessels led the Warriors in the 1,500m with an eighth-place finish. He ran a time of 4:02.22 and Jacob Adams ran a personal best time of 4:24.24 to place 22nd. Jace Joslyn was 27th (4:55.68).
 
Sophomore James Bogdanowicz finished third in the pole vault at 4.43m.
 
Sam Weller finished 14th in the hammer throw to lead LC State with a mark of 41.75m. Tanner Beltz-Childs was 16th (40.57m) and Jr Mendoza was 17th (37.13m). Mendoza went on to place ninth in the shot put (12.81m).
