MARION, Ind. – Sophomore
Perry Severijnse earned a spot in the finals of the men's javelin throw to kick off competition for LC State at the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
Severijnse hit a mark of 58.20m to place ninth overall in the field of 24 student-athletes and missed out on All-American honors by just one spot. It was his first appearance on the national stage.
"Great to make the final, but tough to be one spot out of All-American," coach
Mike Collins said. "Pretty tough weather conditions, but he will learn from it. First national championships, so we will look to improve and be back next year ready to take home some hardware. Very proud of Perry."
