POCATELLO, Idaho – LC State's 400m duo of
London Kirk and
Emily Collins had successful days to highlight the final day of the regular season for Warrior Track and Field at the Bengal Invitational on Saturday.

"Another relatively good outing, and a good chance to perform against the competition," coach
Mike Collins said. "Good to see London hit the national standard. Emily ran a great race and was just shy hitting the national standard herself. One more chance next weekend. Our travel next week will be almost just like this, so we have a chance to go through the routine, hopefully be familiar with it and come out and perform at our best."

Senior Kirk earned his spot at outdoor nationals with a provisional standard in the 400m. The Deary, Idaho native won the event with a time of 47.54 which is tied for the best in the Cascade Conference this season.

Emily Collins also found success in the 400m with the second-best time in LC State history. Her time of 56.69 ranks second in the CCC this season and earned the junior a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Division I meet.

Jr Mendoza hit a PR in the discus to place 15
th in the field (34.93m) and was 16
th in the shot put (12.87m).
Haylee Appleford led the women in the discus in 13
th place (39.44m) and
Hope Zollman was 16
th (34.97). Appleford also led LC in the shot put where she finished 11
th (12.20m) with Zollman in 13
th (11.15m) and
Faith Wersland in 16
th (9.73m).

Freshman
Cameron Carrara finished second in the 110m hurdle final with a time of 16.91. Fellow first year
Max Funk was 13
th in the high jump (1.69m).

Grace Tiegs was third in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 12:15.32.
Grace McCormick was 16
th in the 800m (2:33.78) and
Tristin O'Brien finished 15
th in the men's 800m with a time of 2:01.33.

Junior
Connor Alexander led the LC State men in the 5,000m where has placed sixth (16:43.81).
Jacob Adams was 10
th (17:18.07) and
Clay Shumaker was 11
th (17:31.86).

UP NEXT
The meet marked the end of the regular season for LC State Track and Field. The Warriors open action at the 2025 Cascade Conference Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, on May 9.
