2025 Cascade Conference Track & Field Championships Preview

ASHLAND, Ore. – With six points already on the scoreboard, Lewis-Clark State Track and Field will compete at the 2025 Cascade Conference Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, May 9-10 in Ashland, Ore.
 
The Warrior men earned six points at the CCC Multis earlier this spring to mark the beginning of the postseason. Junior Trenton Johnson finished fifth overall in the conference decathlon and freshman Cameron Carrara was seventh.
 
LC State will compete both Friday and Saturday against the rest of the CCC and use the meet as the final opportunity to hit national qualifying marks.
 
FIELD
Senior Sydnie Zywina is the top overall seed in the triple jump by more than one meter. She is seeded fourth in the long jump with teammate Karissa Lindner in the field as well. Trenton Johnson is seeded third in the triple jump on the men's side and sixth in the long jump.
 
James Bogdanowicz continues to progress in the pole vault and is the fifth overall seed heading into the meet. Brandon Decker will also participate in the competitive event.
 
Throwers will kick off the meet with four Warrior women in the hammer throw. Grace Osborne is seeded eighth overall in the field that also features Faith Wersland, Haylee Appleford and Hope Zollman. Appleford leads the group as the No. 2 overall seed in the shot put with Zollman and Wersland also in the event. Appleford is the top-seeded Warrior in the discus at No. 6 ahead of Osborne and Zollman. Appleford and Zollman are the lone Warriors competing in all three events.
 
On the men's side, Sam Weller enters the meet as the sixth seed in the hammer and will also compete in the shot put. Jr Mendoza is seeded 11th in the shot put and will join Weller and Tanner Beltz-Childs in the hammer throw.
 
Caleb Sprenger leads the Warriors into the high jump as the No. 9 seed with Carrara just behind him. Sprenger is seeded eighth in the javelin with Carrara also in the field. Gianna Anderson is the No. 8 seed in javelin for the women.
 
TRACK
Griffen Parsells enters the CCC meet as the top overall seed in the men's 800m run in a stacked field. He is seeded third in the 1,500m and Kobe Wessels will also compete in both races. Tristin O'Brien will join the pair in the 800m.
 
The Warriors are ranked No. 2 in both 400m races with London Kirk on the men's side and Emily Collins running for the women.
 
Freshman Damaris Kibiwot is ranked third in the 10,000m and fifth in the 5,000m. She will be joined by Lily Bennett in the 5,000m. Connor Alexander will represent LC State in the men's 10,000m and Jacob Adams will run in the 5,000m.
 
Jordan Castillo is the top-seeded Warrior in the men's 100m and 200m. He is ranked third in the 200m and fifth in the 100m with Preston Cooper just a step behind in each. Lindner will represent the women as the seventh seed in the 100m.
 
LC State will have three relays in action. The men's 4x100m relay team is seeded third in the field and the men's 4x400m relay team is the No. 2 seed. The women's 4x400m relay is ranked third.
 
Senior Ian Gardom is the No. 4 seed in the 110m hurdles and freshman Carrara will join him in the race.
 
Grace Tiegs will represent LC State in the women's 3,000m steeplechase as the seventh seeded runner, and Keith Uitdewilligen is seeded 11th on the men's side.
 
THE DETAILS
Action kicks off in Ashland on Friday with live results available throughout the weekend. The top three finishers in each event will earn All-Cascade Conference honors.
 
The two-day event concludes Saturday after a graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. for a number of senior student-athletes who will compete during their official campus commencement.
