RESULTS
ASHLAND, Ore. – The men's 4x100m relay team gave LC State Track and Field its first win at the 2025 Cascade Conference Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, and highlighted five All-CCC finishes for the Warriors.
 
The men's 4x100m relay team of Jedidiah Barnaby, Preston Cooper, Jordan Castillo and London Kirk made LC State history as the first group to win the conference title in the event. The group not only shattered the school record with a time of 41.10 but also ran a national qualifying standard ahead of outdoor nationals. LC State bested second-place Eastern Oregon two .20 seconds. All four earned All-Cascade Conference honors.
 
Freshman Damaris Kibiwot earned the first All-CCC track and field honor of her career with a standout finish in the 10,000m. She ran a personal best time of 37:46.07, which ranks fourth all-time at LC State, to finish second overall in the field.
 
Sydnie Zywina continued her stellar career in jumps with a second-place finish in the long jump. She earned All-CCC honors in the event for the first time in her career with a mark of 5.60m, and Karissa Lindner was 13^th (4.80m). Trenton Johnson finished eighth in the men's long jump (6.44m).
 
After helping the 4x100m relay team, Kirk went on to earn his third career All-CCC honor in the 400m with a third-place finish in the event. His time of 48.40 earned the senior his second conference award of the day.
 
Emily Collins matched the accomplishment in the women's 400m where she also finished third overall. The junior clocked a time of 57.07 to earn All-CCC honors in the event for the third time.

"The day started fantastically with the men's 4x100m winning in national standard time," coach Mike Collins said, "Saw some all-conference performances as well. As always with athletics, there were disappointments as well. Both Emily and London had big hopes of winning their respective 400m races today, but both fell short. Both will have another chance on Saturday with relays to punch tickets to nationals."
 
Sophomore James Bogdanowicz continued to climb his way up the Warrior ranks with the best pole vault outing of his career. He finished fifth overall with the third best mark in school history at 4.60m. Brandon Decker placed 12^th (4.00m).
 
Grace Tiegs ran a personal best time of 11:47.12 to finish fifth overall in the 3,000m steeplechase. Keith Uitdewilligen was 10^th in the men's race (9:59.75).
 
Lewiston native Kobe Wessels led the Warrior men in the 1,500m with a fifth-place finish (3:55.89). Griffen Parsells was just behind him in sixth (3:56.34).
 
Freshman Cameron Carrara was in action in two events to start his weekend. He ran a PR of 16.30 to finish seventh in the 110m hurdles and was 11^th in the javelin (40.46m). Caleb Sprenger placed seventh in the javelin (49.47m).
 
Sam Weller was the top LC State thrower on the day and moved up to third all-time in the Warrior record book. His hammer throw mark of 46.57m earned him a fifth-place finish at the meet. Tanner Beltz-Childs was 15^th (38.94m).
 
Grace Osborne led the Warrior women in the hammer throw with an eighth-place finish. She hit a mark of 44.77m. Faith Wersland had a PR of 44.19m to finish ninth, Haylee Appleford was 13^th (39.05m) and Hope Zollman was 20^th (36.39m).
 
Connor Alexander closed out the first day of action with a 14^th-place finish in the men's 10,000m (33:53.28).

"Sam had a PR in the hammer to score some unexpected points," Collins added. "Also great to see Damaris stick in a group of three that wasn't decided until 800 meters to go in the 6.2 mile race. It has been a long few days, but we are excited about tomorrow. Starting off the day recognizing our seniors that don't get to walk in regular graduation, with the CCC recognizing them at the championships. Then competition begins. Hope to see a few more all-conference and national qualifiers before the day is over."

UP NEXT

The Warriors wrap the CCC Championships on Saturday in Ashland. The conference will recognize graduating seniors in a ceremony at 10 a.m. before events begin.
