MOSCOW, Idaho – Trenton Johnson had a standout day at the final portion of Idaho's Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open on Saturday with a school record and national standard. The senior broke a nine-year-old record in the long jump before clinching his return to nationals in the triple jump. He now holds both the triple jump and long jump indoor records at LC State.

"Pretty good day with a number of school records and three more national qualifiers," coach Mike Collins said. "Can't complain about that. Good start to the day with TJ (Johnson) setting a school record in the men's long jump, and then later hitting a national qualifying mark in the triple jump. Already looking forward to next week and getting back to The Podium, and I know the team is too."

Johnson became the second Warrior on the men's side to hit a national mark this season with his 14.49m B standard in the triple jump. He finished fifth overall and Bryan Kinene was sixth with the second-best jump in program history (13.85m). Collin Wimer was eighth (13.36m).
