LEWISTON, Idaho – Warrior Women's Tennis opened its busy weekend with a 6-1 victory over in-state rival College of Idaho in the Tennis Center on Friday. LC State took two of three doubles matches and five singles contests.
Naraia Montero and
Lulu Monnayoo earned a hard-fought victory in No. 2 doubles. The pair edged their opponents 7-6(7-4), and
Carisa Liebenberg and
Rylie Gettmann clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win in the third spot.
Ana Govea opened singles play with a 6-3, 6-0 win in the No. 4 spot, and Montero won the No. 3 match 6-4, 6-1.
Gwyn Heim battled through three sets for her 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles to clinch the match.
Liebenberg earned a 6-2, 6-3 win in the fifth singles spot, and
Sonam Chuki Dorji won 6-1, 7-5 in No. 6 singles to close out the day.
