LEWISTON, Idaho – The LCSC women's tennis team was on the short end of doubles play but took five-of-six singles from Whitworth to earn their first win of the season Sunday.
 
After playing mostly NCAA Div. I teams in the early going, the Warriors were able to get it done against a Div. III team as their record improves to 1-5 on the year. LCSC defeated the Pirates in their season opener.
 
All singles went in straight sets in favor of the Warriors except for one. But Jenna Roux forced three sets as she won the first 6-3 but later fell 7-6, 7-5.
 
Hannah Uhlenkott and Stephanie Buckingham won the only doubles match, 8-4, out of the three in No. 1 Doubles.
 
LCSC will have a 12-day layoff before their next match against Boise State starting at 5:30 p.m. in Boise.
