Lewis-Clark State College's volleyball team is home this weekend and is taking on two of the top three teams in the Frontier Conference. Friday at 7 p.m., the Warriors (5-8, 0-2) play host to No. 1 Rocky Mountain (11-5, 2-0) before playing Montana Western (9-6, 1-1) Saturday at 2 p.m. Both matches are at the Activity Center.

Coach
LaToya Harris-Alexander said the Warriors needed to turn their focus inward during this week's practices after opening league play with losses at Carroll College and Montana Tech.

"We had to go back to the drawing board," she said. "We may have focused too much on what the opposing team does and we forgot to stick with what we do consistently. Knowing the tendencies of the other team is important but we can't completely change what we do best."

She said trying to crack Rocky Mountain's excellence in all phases will be a challenge.

"They rarely make hitting errors," she said. "They've always been strong blocking at the net. Their liberos and DSs are always consistent so getting the ball down is difficult."

Saturday's challenge is different in that Montana Western employees a unique style of play.

"They run an extremely fast offense," Harris-Alexander said. "Our blockers need to pay attention to where their hitters are going to be. They're extremely fast."

Rachel Gregg has been leading the Warriors offensively with 116 kills off a .217 hitting percentage, with
Natalie Batiste adding 101 off of a .245 percentage.
Luana Thompson, with 209 digs, has been a defensive leader along with block leaders
Justine Cota Culp (24) and Gregg (23).
Lauren West remains a consistent in the offense with 271 assists.
