WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Lewis-Clark State Women's Tennis Team played just their second fall duals match in program history on Friday morning in Walla Walla, Wash. They fell to the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs in a close match by a final of 4-5.
Sophie Uhlenkott was the sole dual winner on the day for LC, teaming up with
Laura Diaz for an 8-2 win in #2 doubles, then coming up with a 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 win in #4 singles.
Laura Rosselli and
Jen Roux also pulled out wins in their singles matches. Rosselli swept her opponent (6-2, 6-2) in #2 singles, and Roux earned a quick 6-2, 6-4 victory in #4 singles to sweep as well.
"We can't get better without playing matches, so when the opportunity presented itself to play a dual in October, I jumped at it," Head Coach
Kai Fong said. "We came close to winning against the Banana Slugs. It was nice to see the progress we have made thus far."
