BOISE, Idaho – The Lewis-Clark State women's tennis team opened their weekend in Boise on Friday with a loss to NCAA DI Weber State. The Warriors dropped the match 4-0.
"Whether we win or lose, the players are using every opportunity they can get to develop their games," coach
Kai Fong said. "Every single person is responding."
Following Division I rules, Weber State grabbed the first point of the match after taking No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. In No. 2 doubles,
Jen Roux and
Laura Rosselli fell 6-0.
Sophie Uhlenkott and
Kyla Collier dropped their No. 3 matchup 6-2.
The Warriors suffered three sweeps in singles play. In No. 2 singles, Rosselli fell 6-2, 6-1. Uhlenkott dropped her No. 5 match 6-0, 6-2 and
Alexandra Barry fell 6-2, 6-1 in No. 6 singles. When play concluded,
Begona Andres was trailing 6-3, 4-2 in the top singles spot and
Laura Diaz was behind 6-0, 4-1 in No. 3 singles.
Jen Roux was tied 6-6 in the first set of her match at the No. 4 spot.
The Warriors will face their second-straight Division I opponent tomorrow when they battle Boise State at 8 a.m.
