LEWISTON, Idaho - The Lewis-Clark State women's tennis team came into Sunday riding a four-match winning streak, having defeated three NAIA opponents and a team from the NCAA DIII. They faced a challenging opponent in the defending Big Sky champion Idaho Vandals to wrap up the weekend, falling 6-1.
"The Idaho Vandals are quite a bit stronger than we are," coach Kai Fong said. "Despite being swept in all the matches, the players played with a lot of conviction. We made another step in the right direction today."
In doubles play, Laura Diaz and Begona Andres fell 6-2 in the top spot. Laura Rosselli and Jen Roux dropped the No. 2 singles match 6-1.
The lone win for the Warriors came in No. 6 singles, which they took by default because Idaho was unable fill the spot.
