MARION, Ind. – Warrior Tennis wrapped up the trip to Indiana with a pair of victories on Saturday morning. Both the men's and women's teams defeated Spring Arbor (Mich.) to cap regular-season competition against NAIA opponents. The LC State men defeated Spring Arbor 5-2, while the women picked up their win by a final of 6-1.

On the women's side, the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles pairings helped the Warriors claim the first point of the match. Laura Diaz and Sophie Uhlenkott teamed up for a 7-5 win in second doubles, while Alexandra Barry and Kyla Collier picked up a 6-4 victory in the third spot. Diaz (No. 2 singles) and Barry (No. 3 singles) each won 6-1, 6-2 in their individual victories, and Uhlenkott won 6-2, 6-2 in fourth singles. Begona Andres won the top singles match 6-4, 6-2, and Bonolo Molefe come from behind to take the No. 6 singles match in three sets (2-6, 6-2, 10-6).

The Warrior men picked up two wins in doubles to earn the first point. No. 1 duo William Bruchard and Marcus Gavelin took their match 6-4. Itaru Kikuchi teamed up with Cornelius Sia for a 6-4 win in No. 3 doubles. Kikuchi rolled past his opponent in No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-0), and Daniel Tevez also earned a big win (6-0, 6-2) in fifth singles. Andre Du Plessis earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the fourth singles spot, while Gunnar Harlan battled through three set for a 4-6, 6-4, 10-1 win in No. 3 singles.

"It is always nice to cap the trip with a win," Head Coach Kai Fong said. "This was the first-ever meeting between the two schools. All the seniors got to end their career against NAIA teams with a 'W'. Our graduating seniors include Marcus Gavelin, Sophie Uhlenkott, Laura Diaz and Begona Andres. A super group of individuals who are the total package. They are model citizens. They have excellent grades. These  talented and hardworking players are leaving behind footprints for the freshmen to follow."
