LEWISTON, Idaho – Five LC State student-athletes were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large team, announced by CoSIDA on Thursday. The at-large team, which includes golf and tennis, featured golfers
Carlos Davila and
Lauren Hamm, and tennis players
William Bruchard,
Laura Diaz and
Sophie Uhlenkott.
Davila and Louder each earned the honor for the first time in their careers. Davila finished the year with a 3.74 GPA in Sports Administration and was second in the Cascade Conference in scoring average. He was named to the All-Cascade Conference team. Hamm had a breakout year as a senior. On top of her 3.63 GPA as a Sports Administration major, Hamm won the Cascade Conference Championship and regular season en route to being tabbed the Cascade Conference Golfer of the Year.
Uhlenkott earned the honor of being named Academic All-District for the third time in her career. She garnered the recognition every year she was eligible after graduating with a 4.0 GPA in Elementary Education. Bruchard earned his second nod after finishing the year with a 3.84 GPA in Biology, and Diaz earned the award for the first time with her 3.96 GPA in Communications.
Academic All-District teams are selected by CoSIDA and recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in academics and athletics. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
