LEWISTON, Idaho – Despite dropping both matches, the LC State Women's Tennis team saw a lot of positives in its matches against NCAA Division I Montana on Saturday. Six different athletes made their LC State debuts in the Tennis Center and showcased a promising future for the Warriors.
 
MATCH ONE: Montana def. LC State 7-0
The top doubles pairing of Beatriz Lambru and Lina Boylan had a strong start, taking the first game of the season. They battled Montana's top duo before falling 6-2. In third doubles, Bonolo Molefe and Andrea Cervantes Bustamante battled in their match for a pair of games before dropping the contest 6-2.
 
In singles play, Lambru impressed in the third slot. The freshman took the first set 6-3 and battled through two more before dropping her singles match in a tight battle (3-6, 6-2, 6-4).

Singles:

1. Haugen (UM) def. Boylan (LCSC) (6-1, 6-3)
2. Oosterbaan (UM) def. Khardina (LCSC) (6-1, 6-0)
3. Dunlap (UM) def. Lambru (LCSC) (3-6, 6-2, 6-4)
4. Mitkova (UM) def. Collier (LCSC) (6-3, 6-1)
5. Regant (UM) def. Molefe (LCSC) (6-2, 6-0)
6. Sterk (UM) def. Cervantes Bustamante (LCSC) (6-4, 6-3)

 
MATCH TWO: Montana def. LC State 5-0
The Warriors mixed up the lineup in the second match of the day, bringing forth another group of fresh faces in the Tennis Center. Kyla Collier teamed up with Maria Eduardo Santos da Silva in No. 2 doubles and had the strongest performance. The duo picked up three games in the 6-3 loss.
 
Boylan continued her strong play from the first match and won five games in her No. 2 singles matchup. Elisiva Latu took four in her No. 3 slot before falling 6-4, 6-0.
