ALEXANDRIA, La. – The women of LC State Tennis battled with the 11
th-ranked team in the NAIA in Xavier (La.) while also battling the weather. The Warriors faced a multiple-hour delay before falling 5-2.
"Maria (Eduardo Santos da Silva), Bonolo (Molefe) and Lina (Boylan) displayed much tenacity and resiliency in their matches," Head Coach
Kai Fong said. "Lina and Bonolo won in the third-set match breakers. It is always nice to see the players make the necessary adjustments to the environmental conditions."
Beatriz Lambru and
Bonolo Molefe had the strongest showing in doubles action and took three games in the third slot. Molefe continued her strong play in singles with a 7-6, 3-6, 10-1 win in the fifth spot.
Lina Boylan also picked up a win in No. 1 singles with scores of 3-6, 6-3, 10-0.
