ALEXANDRIA, La. – LC State Women's Tennis wrapped up its trip down south with a 5-2 victory over Dillard (La.). Freshman
Catherine Khardina picked up wins in No. 2 doubles and singles.
Dillard, a first-year program, had only four players so LC took No. 3 doubles and fifth and sixth singles by default.
"Our players braved the low temperatures today," Head Coach
Kai Fong said. "Catherine played a determined singles match to win at No. 2 singles. She teamed up with
Elisiva Latu for the first time and won at No. 2 doubles. Another first-time pairing,
Lina Boylan and Andrea Cervantes had a good match but ended up losing 7-6 in the tiebreaker."
Khardina and Latu helped LC pick up the doubles point with a 6-1 win in the second slot. Khardina battled to a singles win in the No. 2 spot, taking her match 7-5, 6-4. Molefe also defeated her singles opponent with a quick 6-0, 6-1 win in the fourth spot.
